I found this slim softcover in this Little Free Library in Nashua NH while dropping off some books of my own. It's a recounting of the Grimm brothers' tale of the 12 princesses who would mysteriously wear out their dancing shoes every night - and about the man who figured out (with some help from a mysterious wisewoman) what they were up to. The story doesn't include much in the way of emotion here; were the princesses happy about being freed from the enchantment? Why did the old woman help the soldier? Other retellings go into more depth, or explore other possibilities.

I left this in the Little Free Library, after a quick visit to the nearby A Walk Through Triumph sculpture (just past the garden plots). Hope someone enjoys the book!
